The PA Breast Cancer Coalition and PA Association of Community Bankers Encourage You to Sign up for the 4th Annual Home Run Derby

EPHRATA, Pa., May 23, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Batter Up! It's time to break out your baseball bat and head out to the ballpark! The PA Breast Cancer Coalition (PBCC) and the PA Association of Community Bankers have joined together once again to bring a Home Run Derby event to each of the 11 Minor League Baseball Stadiums across the state. These events, all taking place throughout the month of July, will not only raise funds for the PBCC but also awareness in communities throughout the state.

Events will be held from about 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in each of the following stadiums throughout PA:

Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs – July 6

Erie SeaWolves – July 8

Washington Wildthings – July 9

Harrisburg Senators – July 13

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees – July 15

Reading Phillies – July 19

York Revolution – July 22

Lancaster Barnstormers – July 23

Williamsport Crosscutters – July 26

Altoona Curve – July 29

State College Spikes – July 30

Teams of four can now sign up at www.PAHomeRunDerby.org. Opportunities to participate are still available in each stadium with a donation of $500. Each team will receive event shirts, souvenir team photos and gift bags. Points will be based on where the ball lands in terms of a hit to infield, hit to outfield, hit to the back wall and home run. Individuals may also take a swing against breast cancer at each event for $125. A statewide single-batter winner will be named at the end of the month.
