Charles H. Johnson & Associates Announces Filing of Securities Class Action Against Travelzoo, Inc.

MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 30, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Charles H. Johnson & Associates announces that a class action has been commenced in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York on behalf of purchasers of Travelzoo, Inc. ("Travelzoo" or the "Company") (Nasdaq:TZOO) publicly traded securities during the period April 21, 2011 through July 21, 2011 (the "Class Period").

If you are a member of the proposed Class, you may move the Court to serve as a lead plaintiff for the Class on or before October 14, 2011. You do not need to be a lead plaintiff in order to share in any recovery that may be obtained.

The Complaint alleges that false statements made by the Company from April, 2011 through June, 2011 concerning the Company's performance artificially inflated the share prices. The allegedly false statements included presentations at investment conferences across the country, hosted by the nation's leading brokerage houses.

On July 21, 2011, Defendants revealed that the Company was performing well below expectations, with revenues well below estimates, and expenses exceeding estimates. Upon this news, shares of Travelzoo stock plummeted more than 30%, from a closing price of $85.71 per share on July 20, 2011, to $56.00 per share the following day.
