StudyPoint Makes Inc 5000 for Fifth Year in a Row

StudyPoint, a national leader in private in-home tutoring for the SAT, ACT, and general academic subjects, has been named to the Inc. 5000 list of "The Fastest Growing Companies in America" for a fifth consecutive year.

Boston, MA, Sept. 8, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- StudyPoint, a national leader in private in-home SAT tutoring and ACT tutoring, has been named to the Inc. 5000 list of "The Fastest Growing Companies in America" for a fifth consecutive year.

The award is one of several the company has earned this summer. In May StudyPoint earned a spot on the Boston Business Journal’s Pacesetters list of the fastest growing companies in Massachusetts. It was the company’s second time on the Pacesetters list, and it was followed by StudyPoint’s first ever recognition on the 50 Most Engaged Workplaces list. This award is given annually to companies that demonstrate exceptional commitment to engaging and supporting their employees, and StudyPoint appeared on this year’s list with such industry leaders as Zappos and Aflac.

When asked about the formula for StudyPoint’s success, company CEO Richard Enos highlighted four areas, "We focus heavily on people, product quality, measurement, and innovation. It sounds trite, but those areas are hallmarks of the StudyPoint culture, and they are at the core of how we’ve thrived during one of the most challenging economies this country has ever seen." Elaborating on how his company innovates, Enos commented, "You would be hard pressed to find a part of our organization that we haven’t upgraded or reinvented over the last three to four years. Wherever possible we look for objective measures of our performance, and we’re constantly fine tuning - from our programming and materials, to our tutor selection and training, to our program management technologies. It’s sometimes exhausting, but when you look back at all that we have accomplished it’s easy to see the payoff."

The Inc 5000 is an annual listing that recognizes the fastest growing private companies in the United States. To be eligible, companies must have earned at least $100,000 in revenue in 2007 and $2,000,000 in revenue in 2010, though many - like StudyPoint - far exceed those figures. In StudyPoint’s case, the company has worked with over 16,000 students around the country, and this year’s recognition was the company’s fifth consecutive year on this prestigious list. Commenting on his organization’s streak during a time of economic turmoil, company President Greg Zumas noted StudyPoint’s emphasis on culture, "We’ve always had a tremendously dedicated staff who believe in the work we do with kids, and the trials of the last five years have really galvanized our team. At the end of the day it’s the people who make a difference for service companies, and we do everything we can to hire fantastic teammates and put them in position to succeed."

When asked about whether StudyPoint will be able to keep the streak alive in the years ahead, Enos sounded confident, "This year has been a period of particularly intense innovation for us, and the groundwork we’ve laid will enable us to dramatically increase the accessibility of our programming. Because of this, we’re actually expecting our growth to accelerate over the next 2-3 years."
