ORANGE, Calif., Sept. 19, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Canyon Acres Children and Family Services, a Southern California charity organization committed to providing homes, care, treatment and supportive services for abused, neglected and emotionally troubled children and their families, and Speech and Language Development Center, an organization that assists children and adults with special needs, today announced 'An Evening Under the Stars' will take place at 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 9 at Antonello Ristorante. Event proceeds will benefit Canyon Acres and Speech and Language Development Center (SLDC).
An Evening Under the Stars is an annual event sponsored by I Padrini d'Antonello, a group of businessmen who privately support children's causes and who have chosen to sponsor Canyon Acres and SLDC. In addition, every year the group honors individuals with its Shining Star award for philanthropic efforts in the community. This year's recipients are Pat and Mary Dirk, distinguished Orange County philanthropists and friends of children.
2011 event sponsors Include Gemini Industries, Troy Group Inc., California Sunset Escrow, Antonello Ristorante and the A. Gary Anderson Family Foundation. Live auction items include fine wine lots, a Napa trip, a private wine dinner and much more. Also, more than 50 guests recently attended an underwriting party and contributed $110,000 toward the main event. Harald Herrmann, President and CEO of Yard House Restaurants and a Canyon Acres board member, hosted the party with his wife Courtney at their Anaheim Hills home.
