Cyalume Technologies Introduces New Chemiluminescent Product Lines at the AUSA Annual Meeting and Exposition

WASHINGTON, Oct. 10, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cyalume Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB:CYLU), the world leader in chemiluminescent technology, today introduced its collection of new chemical light products at the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting and Exposition.

The new product offering includes three different lines of chemiluminescent products including the CyBurst™ Non-Pyrotechnic Illumination Grenade, CyPad™ Identification and Marking Emitters and idIRt® Infrared Tracing Powder.

The CyBurst™ products, available in either infrared or visible orange, are time-delayed chemiluminescent grenades that provide high-intensity, non-pyrotechnic light used for safe and reliable target verification and disorientation. The CyBurst™ line is non-toxic, non-flammable and phthalate-free.

The CyPad™ line includes versatile, self-adhering beacons that emit wavelengths of visible, infrared or thermal light.  Used for marking and tracking targets, identifying friend or foe and improving command and control during times of limited visibility, the CyPad™ is easy to use and transport.  The products are available in 10-hour visible, 8-hour infrared or 3-hour thermal.

idIRt® is a non-toxic, infrared traceable powder that links physical evidence of presence to a designated area. Appearing to be normal dirt, the substance emits infrared light and provides an undetectable way to guard and illuminate various areas and routes. The product is able to adhere to articles of clothing, proving useful for tracking and clandestine monitoring. idIRt® glows for 36-48 hours outdoors or one week indoors. High-intensity idIRt® glows brightly for six hours, and the light source diminishes gradually over that time period. Standard colors mock dirt, sand and concrete materials.

"We're very excited to announce our new product collection at the AUSA annual meeting, the preeminent exhibition for engaging military agencies. This product launch represents extensive research and development and engineering efforts that have culminated in innovative products that will improve the effectiveness of training exercises and operational missions. The versatile products can be used by the armed forces, as well as by law enforcement and public safety officers, and Cyalume continues to work toward developing additional products that can be leveraged to serve in multiple end markets," commented Derek Dunaway, Cyalume president and CEO.

Cyalume management and products will be located at booth number 7543 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center from October 10-12.
