Andrew Cappuccino, MD to Chair Board of Internationally Renowned Spine Surgeons


BROOMFIELD, Colo., Oct. 17, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Lanx, Inc., a privately held medical device company focused on developing and commercializing innovative devices for spinal surgery, announces the formation of its Surgeon Advisory Board, chaired by orthopedic surgeon Andrew Cappuccino, MD, of Buffalo Spine Surgery, Lockport, NY. The Board, comprised of neurosurgeons and orthopedic spine surgeons from around the world, will provide guidance to the company on product commercialization, clinical studies and surgeon training.

Dr. Cappuccino, who is well known for his pioneering efforts in advancing spinal surgery and patient advocacy, was instrumental in developing the Spine Arthroplasty Society's "Guidelines for Spinal Arthroplasty" and has held roles in spine societies including the North American Spine Society and the Society of Lateral Access Surgeons, of which he was a founding member. He is certified by both the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and the American Board of Spinal Surgery and has published numerous research articles and book chapters on clinical spinal care.
