HSW International, Inc. Appoints Carrie Ferman as Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy & Business Development

Ferman Joins HSWI to Focus on New Services Business and Launch of its Social Media Discussion Platform in the Consumer Marketplace


ATLANTA, Oct. 19, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- HSW International, Inc. (NASDAQ: HSWI), a global digital media company, today announced the appointment of Carrie Ferman as Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy & Business Development, a new position.  Ms. Ferman will be responsible for strategic and operational leadership as well as identification and execution of growth opportunities.  She will play a key role in the expansion of the Company’s B-to-B services as well as launching new consumer-focused websites leveraging its social media discussion platform. The Company recently announced its intention to change its corporate name to Remark Media in December.

Ms. Ferman has held finance, strategy and operations positions within major U.S. media and entertainment companies including Time Warner, Inc. and The Walt Disney Company.  Most recently, she served as Vice President, Strategy for NBC Universal’s Local Media division with revenue-generating business initiatives and cross-platform partnership responsibilities.  Ms. Ferman brings to HSW International a broad range of discipline experience including television, film, publishing, cable distribution, and digital and social media.  Ms. Ferman holds an MBA from Dartmouth College and a BA in Economics from University of California, Los Angeles.
