Integral Consulting Receives National Certification as a Women's Business Enterprise

SEATTLE, Nov. 17, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Science and engineering firm Integral Consulting Inc. has received national certification as a Women's Business Enterprise by the Astra Women's Business Alliance, a regional certifying partner of the Women's Business Enterprise Council (WBENC). WBENC is the nation's largest third party certifier of businesses owned and operated by women in the United States.

WBENC's national standard of certification is a meticulous process designed to confirm the business is at least 51% owned, operated, and controlled by a woman or women.

"This national certification will bring added value to our clients," says Integral President Lucinda Jacobs. "Now our internal diversity is officially recognized, which is a key asset for clients seeking to incorporate a minority business into their diversity programs and procurements."

Established in 2002 by a handful of forward-thinking scientists and engineers, Integral Consulting began with corporate vision for a firm that provided high-end technical services to solve difficult environmental problems. That handful of entrepreneurs was significantly strengthened when an East Coast presence was established by Vice President Judi Durda and soon after when Vice President Betsy Day joined the company.

Integral has developed as a company based on its commitment to technical integrity, effective collaboration, and exceptional results. The firm continues expanding and building on its key capabilities in toxicology, natural resource damage assessment, ecology, engineering, stormwater, sediment, and groundwater services for clients in the U.S. and throughout North and South America.

To most observers, Integral is realizing this vision.  Growing to more than 90 professionals in offices from Hawaii to Maine, the company has yielded impressive results in a slow economic climate—including being named a "Hot Firm" in 2011 for the third time by business firm Zweig White, based on company financials and growth rate.

"I think of this company as one that happens to be owned by a majority of women... it was never a goal," says President Lucinda Jacobs. "Our company is who we are at the core, which is a great group of experienced professionals, dedicated people working collaboratively to solve client challenges. With WBE certification, we offer our clients even more."
