Tilted Kilt Speeds Ahead With Off Road Racing Sponsorship

Celtic-Themed Restaurant Supports Former Tilted Kilt Girl, Corry Weller

TEMPE, Ariz., April 18, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery, a sports bar that pays homage to the old public houses of America, England, Scotland and Ireland, will sponsor Corry Weller in the Lucas Oil Pro 4 Truck Off Road Short Course Race Series (LOORRS) throughout 2012. The title sponsorship includes logos prominently placed on Weller's vehicle, national television coverage (CBS, SPEED, NBC Sports Network and MavTV) on the LOORRS Pro 4 Truck Off Road Racing Series and local pub appearances to meet Tilted Kilt patrons and fans. Tilted Kilt was first introduced to LOORRS via Weller's experience as one of the sport's few female racers.

Weller, a former warranty administrator, had already been involved in racing as a hobby when she first joined Tilted Kilt as a server in 2009. She and her husband, Jason also own Weller Racing, LLC. The company has been developing, testing and building performance motors for UTVs since 2006. Based out of Chandler, AZ, Weller Racing provides custom UTV and ATV products for a worldwide client base, and is an established name in the world of short course off road racing.

The 40 year old mother of two teens worked as a Tilted Kilt Girl and subsequently became the winningest female in off road short course racing. She now pursues off road short course professionally and is simultaneously a marketing liaison at Tilted Kilt Corporate overseeing sponsorship programs.

"We are thrilled to support Corry as she continues to break the glass ceiling in the traditionally male sport of off road short course racing," said Tilted Kilt President Ron Lynch. "Corry is already the first female pro truck driver in LOORRS. Her goal is to be the only female to win a championship in the Pro 4 class within the next three years. Our goal is to help her make that happen."

Tilted Kilt has a long history of celebrating its strong women. For the past three years Tilted Kilt has offered education scholarships to their 'Kilt Girl calendar girls. For example, Courtney Shepard of Tilted Kilt Scottsdale was featured in the 2011 and 2012 Tilted Kilt calendars and received a $1000 dollar scholarship for her 2011 appearance and is eligible for another $1000 scholarship after serving out the 2012 calendar year. She is using the money to help obtain her associates degree in Applied Science. Her goal is to work in the medical field.

"I have always appreciated the support Tilted Kilt provides for its female employees. Erin Colombi, a current Tilted Kilt general manager at the Tilted Kilt Phoenix location, completed two tours in Afghanistan. Women of the Kilt are a force to be reckoned with," said Weller.
