World Health Annual Charity Golf Classic in Support of Wellspring

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - June 26, 2012) - On July 6 in Edmonton and July 20 in Calgary, World Health will hold its Annual Charity Golf Classic with all proceeds benefitting Wellspring, a community based cancer support centre that provides support, coping skills, and education to individuals living with cancer.

"Fitness is only one part of a healthy life; Wellspring can aid in improving the emotional and mental health of members of our community who are diagnosed with cancer," said Michael McDonald, Director of Fitness Services and Member Experience, World Health. "In 2011, the Golf Classic raised $20,000 for Wellspring, and we hope to top that this year."

Open to members and non-members alike, the classic will be held at The Ranch Golf Club in Edmonton and The Canal at Delacour Golf Club in Calgary; tickets are available at the reception desk of all World Health locations for $150 and $160, respectively.

Interested participants can enter a foursome, or as an individual. Each ticket includes a 9 a.m. shotgun tee off, lunch, dinner reception, silent auction, and team prize.

Adding a little more fun to the day, golfers are encouraged to embrace the 80s theme. Men, dig out your Miami Vice pastel t-shirt for under your Armani jacket, and ladies the style is messy chic and Madonna bows.

Tickets are on sale now at the reception desk of all 17 World Health locations. Year over year, the tournament attracts over 260 golfers from more than 60 different corporations. Sponsorship opportunities are still available for both cities.
