Venchurs Converted Bi-Fuel Ford F-350 Truck Featured on Top Gear

Top Gear, which airs on HISTORY Tuesday nights at 9/8pm Central, showcased the Venchurs bi-fuel truck which boasts a ranger of over 650 miles in a segment where the hosts drove from Portland to San Fransisco on one tank of gas.

Adrian, MI, Sept. 6, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- A Venchurs Vehicle Systems CNG F350 battled two unlikely candidates for fuel economy supremacy on last night's episode of Top Gear - a VW Passat TDI and a BMW 5-Series - and the results might surprise you. The show, which airs on the History Channel on Tuesday nights and is produced by BBC Worldwide Productions, featured the Venchurs' converted bi-fuel Ford pickup in a challenge that required hosts Tanner Foust, Rutledge Wood and Adam Ferrara to drive from Portland to San Francisco (two of the greenest cities in America) without stopping for fuel - hence the episode name, "One Tank."

"We're very proud that one of our CNG trucks was featured on Top Gear, known internationally as the top source for automotive entertainment on television," said Jeff Wyatt, CEO of Venchurs. "We take a leadership role in promoting both the compressed natural gas industry as well as Ford trucks, and I'd say landing a prime time segment on Top Gear, where our CNG F350 competed against highly efficient German gasoline and diesel cars prove that CNG is viable."

Without spoiling the end of the show, the CNG F350 performed extremely well in the test, highlighting its long-range capabilities and the seamless transition from CNG to gasoline operation. Because of VVS Conversions' strategic alliance with Ford Motor Company as a Qualified Vehicle Modifier (QVM), VVS offers both CNG Dedicated and Bi-Fuel conversions of Ford light trucks. With a supplementary upfit facility in Adrian, Michigan, VVS is the only converter able to further customize these trucks to meet the needs of the customer. From suspension modifications to off-road gear and work truck accessories, Venchurs is a one-stop shop for all company fleet needs.

Companies interested in adding CNG Ford F-250s or F-350s to their fleets are invited to apply for Venchurs' short term loaner program, where they can put the converted trucks to the test.
