Warren Veterinarian Announces Weekly Vaccine Clinic

WARREN, Mich., Sept. 9, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Abbey East Animal Hospital announced that pet owners may now drop by every Thursday from 3:00pm to 5:00pm for the animal hospital's vaccine clinic. No appointment is necessary. During this vaccine clinic, the vet clinic offers vaccinations without any additional examination fee for healthy dogs and cats. During regular office hours, the veterinary clinic offers comprehensive wellness care, including annual exams, parasite screening, nutrition counseling, deworming, health certificates and ID microchipping.

Warren veterinarian Dr. Denise Graye announced that the Warren pet clinic, Abbey East Animal Hospital, is now offering a weekly drop-in vaccine clinic. Dr. Graye, together with fellow veterinarian Dr. Wayne Gilchrist, provides core vaccinations without an additional exam fee every Thursday from 3:00pm to 5:00pm for well pets over a year of age.

"We are excited to announce our new vaccine clinic hours," said Dr. Graye. "This weekly drop-in clinic is designed to make it easier for busy pet owners to help their pets stay up to date on critical vaccinations. Many pet owners do not realize that annual boosters are essential to ensuring vaccination efficacy."

Dr. Graye and Dr. Gilchrist are also raising awareness about the importance of wellness care, including annual exams, for preventing common health problems in pets.

"Just like with humans, proactive veterinary care can significantly reduce the risk for contagious illnesses and chronic health conditions," said Dr. Gilchrist. "Our wellness program helps keep pets healthy and active."

During regular hospital hours, the animal hospital in Warren provides physicals, deworming, ID microchipping and other wellness services. Pet owners who have recently adopted a new adult pet are invited to bring the pet in for an initial physical exam at our vaccine clinic.

Pet owners may also stop by the animal hospital to pick up heartworm and flea/tick preventative products. The vet clinic now carries Trifexis, a combined heartworm and flea preventative medication.

The veterinarians recommend Trifexis as an affordable and easy-to-use combined heartworm and flea preventative. The vet clinic also carries popular brands including HeartGuard and Frontline, and Advantage Multi for cats.

The animal hospital has an on-site lab for testing fecal samples for parasites and analyzing diagnostic blood work. Other lab services include Feline Leukemia and FIV testing, heartworm testing, Lyme disease testing, hormone level testing and urinalysis.

In addition to wellness care, the animal hospital offers comprehensive veterinary services including pet surgery, dentistry, prescription medication and diets.
