Regarding this program, Cyrus Reed, Acting Chapter Director, Lone Star Chapter of the Sierra Club said, "The Roundup's Educational Day and Kids Environmental Project embraces natural values for clean air, water conservation and sustainability that help preserve Texas as a great place to live and enjoy for generations to come!" If you have an interest in participating please call 830-997-2350. Other workshops scheduled for the Pre-Event Educational Day include:

Rainwater Harvesting

Dick Peterson leads the workshop where participants actually assemble a small 100-150 gallon rainwater system.  The workshop will take you thru different parts and assembly options.  You'll walk away with a firm grasp of knowledge to set up your own small rainwater system.  An actual system will be assembled in the workshop and auctioned off during the roundup.

Small Wind

Have you asked yourself is small wind right for me? In this workshop Ken Starcher from the Alternative Energy Institute gives an overview of wind applications and their benefits. You gain knowledge needed for setting up your own wind system.

Understanding the Financials of Solar

Circular Energy is passionate about creating a better tomorrow through solar technology.  Learn how a proper design can have significant effects on energy production, aesthetic appearance, and most importantly, cost.  This course will provide attendees with a foundation of knowledge specific to the design of a solar PV system. The 1- hour course provides attendees, architects and AIA members with CEU credits for AIA & USGBC certification.

Registration

All workshops will be held at Market Square at 101 Main, Fredericksburg, TX.  Plan on 4 hours, Friday, September 28 from 1 - 5 pm. Registration information can be found on The Roundup website or by calling 830-997-2350.
