Chequed.com Redefines Reference Checking, Maximizes Impact of Common Reference Question

Company's Hire/Rehire Scoring Function Provides Employers With Greater Predictive Insight to Make Better-Informed Hiring Decisions

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY--(Marketwire - Sep 24, 2012) - Chequed.com, Inc., an online reference checking and pre-employment testing provider, today announced details of the Hire/Rehire function of its industry-leading ChequedReference™, a cloud-based reference checking system using assessment-based logic to give unparalleled insight into a candidate's fit for a job and company. Taking the age-old reference-checking question of "Would you hire or rehire this person in the future?" and providing references with five response options and the ability to answer anonymously, Chequed.com helps its clients to ensure they hire the best candidates possible.

Reference checking traditionally has taken place over the phone, with a recruiter asking a candidate's former employers questions about the individual's work performance. One of the most common questions is whether the reference would hire or rehire that person, or if that person would be eligible for rehire, typically eliciting a simple yes or no response. Recognizing that these responses fail to give insight into the actual likelihood that the reference would hire or rehire the candidate, Chequed.com developed a new functionality to bring another dimension to the hire/rehire question and provide deeper insight into how former employers measure the candidate's past performance.

When a candidate's references anonymously complete the web-based reference check, in addition to answering questions designed to gauge the candidate's competencies and behaviors, they are also asked about their potential to hire or rehire that candidate. In answering, the reference selects their response from a five-point rating scale that includes the options: Definitely likely, Maybe, Possibly, Unlikely and No. References can also provide comments to explain their answer and provide additional insight into the candidate's past performance. As a reference's comments are kept anonymous, and ChequedReference includes a waiver removing them of any liability, references are likely to answer more candidly and provide more accurate information that helps recruiters to make better-informed hiring decisions.

Greg Moran, Chairman and President of Chequed.com, commented, "One of the best ways to assess a candidate's job-fit is to find out if their previous employers would rehire them. But instead of just asking a yes or no question that provides little usable insight for hiring managers, we've developed a method for references to rate their likelihood of rehiring the candidate -- and provide reasoning for their answer. Such insight is crucial in making smarter hiring decisions, and we are proud to be the only automated reference checking provider to offer this functionality."

Chequed.com will be exhibiting its solutions in Booth no. 670 at the 15th Annual HR Technology Conference, October 8 - 10, 2012 in Chicago. More information about ChequedReference™ can be accessed at: www.chequed.com.
