PNC Financial Services Group Chief Economist Stuart Hoffman to Address INVESTFlorida Equity Conference


FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Oct. 3, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Stuart G. Hoffman, chief economist for one of the country's leading financial services organizations, will address the inaugural INVESTFlorida Equity Conference on Dec. 7 in Hollywood, Fla., organizers announced today.

Hoffman is senior vice president and chief economist for The PNC Financial Services Group, which has more than $263 billion in assets and provides consumer and small business banking to customers in 15 states. PNC Financial Services Group offers corporate and institutional banking and residential mortgage banking services across the continental U.S.

As the opening conference speaker, Hoffman will join a presentation lineup that includes some of Florida's leading public companies and INVESTFlorida keynote speaker Mike Jackson, the chief executive from AutoNation who is widely regarded as one of the automotive industry's most influential and effective leaders.

The conference, to be held at the Westin Diplomat in Hollywood, Fla., allows Florida public company executives to interact with professional money managers, institutional investors and analysts through formal presentations and one-on-one meetings. Leaders such as Jackson and Hoffman will address broader economic issues that affect public companies across the state of Florida and beyond.

Hoffman is currently serving as chairman of the American Bankers Economic Advisory Committee. He also serves on the board of directors of the Economic Club of Pittsburgh - the local chapter of National Association for Business Economics (NABE). He is a past president of the National Association for Business Economics.

Hoffman joined PNC in 1980 after a six-year tenure with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. He became vice president and senior economist for PNC in 1987 and was elected senior vice president and chief economist in 1991.
