Amramp Provides the Gift of Accessibility for National Holiday Tradition

Nation's Leading Provider of Accessibility Solutions Aids Mobility-Challenged Community in Ornamenting the 2012 Capitol Christmas Tree During Annual Trek to D.C.

BOSTON, Nov. 9, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- For the second consecutive year, Amramp, the nation's leading provider of accessibility solutions and modular wheelchair ramp systems, is proudly providing ramps for the 2012 Capitol Christmas Tree tour, enabling those with mobility-challenged disabilities to participate in this nearly 50-year-old national tradition.

Harvested from the White River National Forest near Meeker, Colo.,this decorated icon will journey 5,000 miles across the nation with 'companion' trees and more than 5,000 handmade ornaments created by Coloradoan children with the tree's theme of "Celebrating the Great Outdoors." Along the way, the tree will visit over 20 communities allowing the public to view the 73-foot tree while helping to promote a message of sustainable forestry and collecting gifts for underprivileged children.

Amramp's involvement with the Capitol Christmas Tree Tour furthers the company's mission to give back to communities across the country. Amramp's ramp system will ensure that Capitol Tree events across the country will be fully accessible and ADA-compliant, allowing each visitor the chance to experience the holiday tradition and festivities.

Katherine Keeley, owner of Amramp Denver, and her team trained U.S. Forestry personnel to set up and break down the steel-mesh platforms and wheelchair ramp systems at each stop across the country, from Meeker, CO to Washington, D.C., where the tree will be decorated with the children's ornaments. House Speaker John Boehner and a child from Colorado will light the tree in early December on the Capitol lawn, where it will remain throughout the season.

"Amramp is dedicated to making sure that every American who wants to participate in this nationally unifying journey can do so," said Julian Gordon, Amramp's founder and president. "We are passionate and proud to be part of such a wonderful tradition."
