The Westin Monache Resort, Mammoth Partners with The Kelly Clark Foundation as 2012-13 Beneficiary of Non-Profit Partnership Program

Special Lodging Rate Inspires and Empowers Youth to Pursue Their Dreams in Snowboarding

Mammoth Lakes, Calif., Nov. 15, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Westin Monache Resort, Mammoth is collaborating with the Kelly Clark Foundation to empower youth to pursue their dreams and achieve their goals in snowboarding.

As part of the year-long partnership, The Westin Monache Resort is offering guests the opportunity to rejuvenate while at the same time benefitting a worthwhile non-profit by taking advantage of a special Kelly Clark Foundation lodging rate available through October 1, 2013. Every time a guest books this rate, the Westin Monache will donate $15 on behalf of the guest to the foundation. The Westin Monache also will host the Kelly Clark Foundation fundraising wine dinner and auction on November 30, 2012.

The Kelly Clark Foundation is a nonprofit organization that provides youth with the resources and opportunities to achieve their highest potential through snowboarding. It was founded by snowboarder Kelly Clark, who scooped an incredible 23 podiums before she was even a legal adult--including a Vans Triple Crown win, a Junior World Championship title, and an overall Grand Prix title. Since then, she's added multiple X Games medals, a record-setting five US Open pipe wins, and Olympic Gold and Bronze. One of her foundation's main programs is the Snowboard Passport Grant, which seeks to inspire disadvantaged youth to succeed in life through the introduction to the snowboard lifestyle and culture.

"At the Westin, we promise a better you and partnering with the Kelly Clark Foundation enables us to empower a better youth who are focused on achieving their goals," said Brent Truax, General Manager of The Westin Monache, Mammoth. "We promise our guests that they will move well, feel well, work well, and play well, and the Kelly Clark Foundation helps our youth do the same."

The Westin Monache's partnership with the non-profit will ensure it can help even more young snowboarders make their dreams a reality.

"We are very excited to have been selected by the Westin for their Nonprofit Partnership Program," said Kelly Clark. "By working together we will be able to make an even bigger impact."

As part of the partnership program, The Westin Monache is hosting the Kelly Clark Foundation Wine Dinner fundraiser on November 30. The 6 p.m. Wine Dinner is $100 per person and the raffle, auction, dessert and cash bar that follows at 8 p.m. is free.  Call 760-934-0460 for reservations or visit http://www.kellyclarkfoundation.org/events.
