MISSION VIEJO, Calif., Dec. 4, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Embark Holdings, Inc. (Pink Sheets:GFMD) subsidiary Elite Representation Associates, LLC announces the representation of three Miami Marlins pitching prospects.

Ryan Newell was the 7th round pick by the Miami Marlins in the 2012 MLB Rule IV Amateur Draft. With a fastball that sits at 96-97 mph and a hard 86-88 mph slider, the Marlins made Newell their second pitcher selected. In 2012, his junior season at Shorter University, Newell ranked 3rd in the nation (NAIA) with 12.12 strikeouts per nine innings and allowed only 5.18 hits per game and held opposing hitters to a .167 batting average.

Brian Ellington, another hard-throwing right-handed pitcher, is the 2012 16th round draft pick by the Marlins out of the University of West Florida. In his first season in professional baseball, Ellington posted a 2-0 record with a 2.40 earned run average and accumulated 33 strikeouts in only 30 innings pitched for the Class A Jamestown Jammers.

Patrick Merkling, a left-handed pitcher, was the Marlins 18th round draft pick in 2012 out of Lee University. In 2011, Merkling was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 44th round and opted to not sign and returned to Lee University to improve his draft stock. For the 2012 season, Merkling put together a combined 1-2 record with a 3.33 earned run average and 28 strikeouts in 27 innings pitched. His career began with the Rookie Level Gulf Coast Marlins and advanced to Class A Jamestown Jammers and Class A Advanced Jupiter Hammerheads.

ERA President Bryan Swalley stated, "Representing three of the first eight pitchers drafted by the Marlins last June is not only a testament of the success we've had in a short amount of time, but also to the direction ERA is headed in. We're committed to representing top prospects in organizations that have an excellent track record of developing talent, such as the Marlins."
