Dunwoody Chiropractor Now on Facebook

DUNWOODY, Ga., Dec. 23, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Back 2 Back Chiropractic, a family wellness place, is now on Facebook. Patients are encouraged to join the practice's Facebook page to receive regular updates. The practice posts tips for natural pain management, wellness news, educational videos and links to the practice's wellness blog. The new Facebook page is part of Back 2 Back Chiropractic's commitment to increasing patient engagement and creating an online community with Facebook, Google+ and Twitter. The practice provides spinal decompression therapy, pediatric care and natural pain management.

Dunwoody chiropractor Dr. David McKenna is using Facebook to stay connected with his patients – and hoping to empower his patients to lead healthier lives in the process. Dr. McKenna, along with chiropractor Dr. O'Hara McKenna, is taking an active role on social media, engaging patients on Facebook, Twitter and Google+.

"Not every chiropractor in our area is using Facebook," said Dr. David McKenna. "We are excited to take advantage of this important tool to enhance communication with our patients."

Back 2 Back Chiropractic's Facebook page includes tips for natural pain management, wellness news, and videos about different treatments, like spinal decompression therapy. Patients are encouraged to share their experiences and support other patients on their journey to better health.

Dr. O'Hara McKenna said the practice is also using social media to spread the word about pain management alternatives to prescription medication and surgery.

"Many of our patients do not realize that there are real alternatives to medication or invasive surgery," said Dr. O'Hara McKenna. "Spinal decompression therapy, for example, is one of the most effective treatments for whiplash injury and chronic neck pain. However, many patients continue to know little about this treatment. Our Facebook page is a great way to educate people about the benefits of chiropractic care."

Individuals who visit the Facebook page may also post questions for the Dunwoody sports chiropractor. The chiropractors follow a whole body approach to pain management. This means that the chiropractors address both the underlying cause for injury in addition to providing drug-free pain relief.

"Individuals experience chronic pain when the body is out of alignment," said Dr. David McKenna. "For example, a whiplash injury may leave the cervical spine misaligned, causing chronic neck pain, headaches, migraines and difficulty concentrating. By restoring alignment to the spine, we relieve pressure on pinched nerves. This reduces pain and enhances overall well-being."

The chiropractors said Facebook, along with Twitter and Google+, is a natural fit for their practice's mission.

"We are passionate about educating patients," said Dr. O'Hara McKenna. "We know that our patients are very busy. Facebook allows us to share health tips each day in a non-intrusive format while creating an online support community."
