New Consumer Authentication Solution From CardinalCommerce Receives Industry Recognition

MENTOR, Ohio, March 27, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CardinalCommerce, a global leader in Consumer Authentication, today announced its selection as a finalist in the 2013 MRC Emerging Technology Awards (METAwards).

As the experts in deploying consumer authentication for over 40,000 merchants, CardinalCommerce has been recognized by the MRC for changing Consumer Authentication giving Merchants choice and control when deciding how to authenticate their customers.

Cardinal developed a comprehensive rules engine allowing Merchants to decide whom and when they authenticate. In addition, Cardinal and MasterCard announced their partnership on SecureCode Plus (+), altering the display of Consumer Authentication giving merchants flexibility when it comes to the consumer experience. Merchants can choose how they want to authenticate the cardholder by leveraging new technologies to dynamically include authentication and enrollment screens directly in their checkout process.

Tim Sherwin, EVP, Co-Founder CardinalCommerce commented: "Our new approach allows Merchants to configure rules on how to selectively authenticate their Customers. Merchants can choose to authenticate based on product price, product type, payment choice, IP location, shipping location, failed fraud screening and more. For example a Merchant can easily enable a high risk SKU to trigger authentication."

The METAwards recognizes solution providers delivering the most innovative, cutting edge technology for managing payments and risk in electronic commerce. "As the premier global fraud and payments association, we were pleased with the quality of innovative nominations received and congratulate the winners," said Tom Donlea, MRC's managing director for the Americas. Each nomination was evaluated for its innovation, potential for deployment, impact and relevance by a panel of merchants and solutions providers.

METAwards finalists will deliver short presentations to over 1,000 leading e-commerce professionals at the 2013 e-Commerce Payments and Risk Conference in Las Vegas on 28 March, after which the audience will vote live, via mobile text, to determine the winners in each category.
