(www.krcomplexlit.com) is currently investigating Fat Zero and Extreme Body Slim, weight loss products promoted and sold by Floyd Nutrition LLC via various channels including websites operated by Floyd Nutrition LLC and in some retail stores. The investigation focuses on the allegedly false claims made in the marketing of Fat Zero and Extreme Body Slim. On June 17, 2013, the Food and Drug Administration ("FDA") advised consumers not to purchase or use Fat Zero and Extreme Body Slim, and to throw the products away.
According to the FDA's laboratory analysis, Fat Zero and Extreme Body Slim contain sibutramine, among other ingredients. Sibutramine is a prescription diet drug that the FDA removed from the U.S. market in October 2010 for safety reasons. Sibutramine is known to substantially increase blood pressure and/or pulse rate in some individuals and may present a significant risk to those with a history of coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, or stroke. Fat Zero also contains phenolphthalein. Phenolphthalein was an ingredient in some over-the-counter laxative products until 1999 when the FDA reclassified the ingredient as "not generally recognized as safe and effective."
