Bit9 Hosts Largest User Conference in Company History

Four-fold increase in attendees, double the number of sessions highlight 2013 User Xchange in Boston

WALTHAM, Mass., Nov. 6, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Bit9, the leader in a new generation of endpoint and server security based on real-time visibility and protection, today announced that its 2013 User Xchange, a conference for the company's customers in North America held in Boston October 29 and 30, was the largest in the company's history.

Attendance rose four-fold compared to 2012, with customers coming from 25 states and Canadian provinces. IT and security professionals from many industries gathered to meet with Bit9 security experts and learn about the company's product strategy and plans for continued innovation. Most importantly, the customers were able to share with each other their experiences of how the Bit9 Security Platform keeps their endpoints and servers safe from today's sophisticated threats and zero-day attacks that traditional security solutions—particularly antivirus—simply cannot stop.

Attendees included many Fortune 500 companies, ranging from top-5 Internet services and financial data services companies to top-10 petroleum and aerospace companies.

"The surge in attendance at this year's User Xchange—including so many Fortune 500 companies—was great to see, and it is consistent with Bit9's growth and the positive feedback we receive from our customer community," said Patrick Morley, Bit9 chief executive officer.

"When you're in the very serious business of empowering customers to defend themselves against advanced threats it's rewarding to hear how Bit9 plays an essential enterprise-wide role in these large organizations It's particularly exciting to hear such enthusiasm for our newest capabilities—advanced threat detection using our Advanced Threat Indicators; real-time forensics capabilities for fast, effective response; Bit9 for FireEye and Bit9 for Palo Alto Networks, which integrate network and endpoint/server security; and our latest automated rules for highly effective, unobtrusive protection," Morley said.

The 2013 User Xchange featured double the number of sessions from the 2012 Bit9 conference, many of which were delivered by Bit9 customers. Presenters also included a cyber-security expert from the U.S. federal government, who spoke about domestic and foreign cyber threats.

"One of the most impressive things about the Bit9 customer community is how many great ideas they have to make our platform even better. For instance, Bit9 for FireEye and Bit9 for Palo Alto Networks were developed based on input from customers who were looking to effectively integrate their network security solutions with the Bit9 platform. It's gratifying to have that level of communication and collaboration with the Bit9 user community," said Morley. "We can't wait to have an even more successful User Xchange in 2014."
