Concord Disposal Service Launches Month-Long Paperless Billing Initiative Aiding Meals on Wheels and Senior Outreach Services

CONCORD, Calif., March 25, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- As part of its celebration of Earth Day, Concord Disposal Service (a division of recycling and resource recovery company Garaventa Enterprises) is launching a month-long paperless billing campaign that encourages resource conservation in the community and also helps area seniors. For every customer that signs up for free paperless billing from April 1 – April 30, the company will donate $2 to the local branch of Meals on Wheels and Senior Outreach Services.

Current customers can sign up to get free paperless billing by calling (925) 682-9113 or visiting http://www.concorddisposal.com

The paperless billing initiative is part of Concord Disposal Service's ongoing commitment to educating Contra Costa County residents about the importance of recycling and recovery behavior in the greater community. Though this marks the inaugural campaign with Meals on Wheels and the first Earth Day-centered initiative, the company has promoted paperless billing for the past three years through its Thanksgiving "Give Back" program. Since 2011, the Garaventa family of companies has donated more than $5,000 to the Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano through its annual paperless billing campaign.

"There is no doubt that paperless billing is a clear and easy way to positively impact our environment. That's why we are championing customer sign-ups multiple times a year in combined campaigns that also assist charities serving the greater community simultaneously," said Concord Disposal Service Chief Executive Officer Joseph Garaventa. "Earth Day is not only a time to celebrate everything that East Bay residents are already doing to conserve our natural resources, but it is also a time to further our commitment as a community to keep recycling and recovering each and every day."
