Hispanic Chamber of E-Commerce Introduces National Advisory Board

The Hispanic Chamber of E-Commerce has selected 20 small business owners to help expand the organization's reach to a national level.

SAN DIEGO, Calif., May 23, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via PRWEB - The vision of the Hispanic Chamber of E-Commerce is to help small, Hispanic-owned businesses build their presence and develop a competitive edge in the online marketplace--and to do so on a national scale. To help bring this goal to fruition, the organization has developed a National Advisory Board, culled from a group of applicants spanning the entire United States. In a new statement to the press, the Hispanic Chamber of E-Commerce introduces its new National Advisory Board and lays out the mission that this panel of experts now faces.

"Back in March, we invited small business owners from across the country to join our National Advisory Board and to help us carry out the work of our organization," comments Tayde Aburto, founder of the Hispanic Chamber of E-Commerce. "We received 62 applications and have now selected the top 20 candidates to join our National Advisory Board."

True to its name, this National Advisory Board includes small business owners from across the country--not just California, where the Hispanic Chamber of E-Commerce is headquartered, but also Texas, Florida, Utah, Kansas, New Jersey, North Carolina, Missouri, and Michigan.

"The Hispanic population accounts for 52 million Americans in the US which is one and six Americans today, and it will be one in three Americans by 2050. Beyond the sheer numbers, Hispanics are making transformational change in all aspects of American culture including food, music, sports, beauty standards, style and appearance, clothing, art, architecture, television programming, politics and technology. At the center of this transformation will be how we connect with the Hispanic community via the internet, and that's why the Hispanic Chamber for E-Commerce is so important and relevant to everything business is doing today," said Albert Berriz, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Managing Member at McKinley.

For Jose Huitron founder of Hub81, "The Hispanic Chamber of E-Commerce is a legitimate force sparking an incredible amount of momentum on the ground and online inspiring today's diverse business community to embrace the power of the web to activate tangible outcomes. It's not often that you find an organization that understands the power of action and the possibilities that follow when you deliver with high fidelity. HISCEC is a robust platform fostering impact within the Latino business community and it's humbling to be along for the ride."

The role of the National Advisory Board is to help the Hispanic Chamber of E-Commerce to expand its reach across the United States. "The members of this panel bring unique knowledge and skills, which augment the knowledge and skills of those who work on staff at the Hispanic Chamber of E-Commerce," Aburto remarks. "We enlisted their small business savvy to help guide our organization. In particular, the National Advisory Board will play a big role in helping us reach our goal of getting 100,000 Hispanic-owned businesses online."

"Meaningful work brings reward thru passion, not genius. This quote from the book Outliers resonates with me because it embodies the entrepreneurial spirit, hard work, resilience and dedication of our HISCEC members. Being part of the advisory board gives me the opportunity to contribute to that spirit and to live a life with purpose thru meaningful work," said Sonia Farace, Personal Marketing Coach.

Though the members of the new National Advisory Board represent many different industries and verticals, they are united by their zeal for entrepreneurship and their commitment to using Internet business tools to expand their reach and increase their success. They also share a passion for assisting other small business owners to adopt these online tools. "We selected these Board members on the basis of integrity as well as innovation," concludes Aburto.

"I look forward to collaborating with fellow advisory board members and creating opportunities for all the members of the Hispanic Chamber of E-Commerce. I especially can't wait to impact businesses in The Rio Grande Valley and get more of then on the web," said Dalinda Alcantar, CEO of eJucomm.
