Bayshore Networks Joins Industrial Internet Consortium

New Member Will Spotlight Operational and Security Policy Technologies

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Jun 3, 2014) - Bayshore Networks®, which is setting the standard for operational and security policy for the Internet of Everything, today announced that it has joined the Industrial Internet Consortium. Founded in March by AT&T, Cisco, GE, IBM and Intel, the IIC is an open membership group focused on breaking down the barriers of technology silos to support better access to big data with improved integration of the physical and digital worlds.

The consortium will enable organizations to more easily connect and optimize assets, operations and data to drive agility and to unlock business value across all industrial sectors. The IIC will establish and influence common architectures and interoperability as well as identify open standards that integrate devices and machines to people, processes and data. Bayshore will work with the IIC to explore technologies for common security and operational policy frameworks.

"We are very excited to welcome Bayshore Networks to the IIC," said Dr. Richard Soley, Executive Director of the Industrial Internet Consortium. "Security is an important component to the development of the Industrial Internet. With Bayshore's expertise in delivering industrial-strength cybersecurity solutions, their input will be greatly beneficial in the development of use cases and security frameworks."

"Our customers are telling us that context and content-aware policy regulation is crucial for ensuring the safety and security of our manufacturing infrastructure," said Francis Cianfrocca, Founder & CEO of Bayshore Networks. "We are eager to begin participating in the IIC's pioneering activities to accelerate the growth of the Industrial Internet while protecting these critical assets."
