Customers Excited By Most Recent CFIA Registration For LysteGro

Attention: Municipal, Environmental and Business reporters/editors

CAMBRIDGE, Ontario, June 5, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued another product registration to Lystek International for their commercial fertilizer product, LysteGro produced at its market leading biosolids and organics processing facility in Dundalk ON. Lystek clients are excited about the impact this latest registration will have on their operations.

"I absolutely love this product," commented loyal customer Jim Patton, CEO of Patton Poultry Breeders Inc. and President of the Innovative Farmers of Ontario (IFAO). "Farming is changing so fast and there are economic and environmental pressures forcing us to rethink how we fertilize soil. For my operation, Class A quality products are the only way to go. I am willing to invest in LysteGro because it is better for our operations, business and the environment."

The registration is formal recognition by the federal government that the nutrient rich, organically- based LysteGro can be used as a true, fertilizer product. The registration allows customers to utilize it in a wider range of settings and store LysteGro at their facility allowing for easier, more convenient application.

"This registration may be the one we are most proud of so far," commented Rick Mosher, President of Lystek. "The Southgate Organic Materials Recovery Centre is the first facility of its kind in Canada and receiving a registration for an operation that recovers and re-uses these raw materials from multiple sources to produce a CFIA registered fertilizer is a real win for all stakeholders. With this operation, which is now running 6 days a week, 24 hours a day we are providing affordable, responsible solutions to a wide range of communities such as Orangeville, Walkerton, Halton, Waterloo, Toronto and more. Every year, we will convert hundreds of thousands of tonnes of organics that might previously have been "wasted", into a nutrient-rich product that agriculture, sod farms, green houses and others are clamoring for."

"LysteGro gives us the ability to build soil structure, reduce our input costs. Plus, it's a major advancement over traditional, municipal biosolids," commented Brian Dunlop, President and owner of Dunlogon Farms. "For us, LysteGro just makes sense; we use less water, have fewer odours and are applying product with high concentrations of organic matter and no pathogens. LysteGro is good for our business and the planet."
