Net Health Launches PQRS Reporting Registry for Wound Care Providers

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 25, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Net Health, the leader in software solutions for specialized outpatient care, announced today that the Net Health Specialty Care Registry is accepting registrations from wound care providers who are Eligible Professionals (EPs) and wish to report PQRS data to CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) this year.

PQRS is a schedule of financial incentives and penalties intended to spur voluntary reporting of data measures that CMS believes help determine quality of care in the Medicare Part B population. The program launched in 2006, but is nearing the end of the incentive period. EPs who do not participate in PQRS reporting in 2014 will face negative payment adjustments, beginning in 2016.

"Wound care is a specialized business and our Registry gives providers a purposefully directed channel for PQRS reporting. There's no need to wade through all the PQRS measures set forth by CMS," says Christopher F. Hayes, Chief Technology Officer at Net Health. "We've selected fifteen measures that are most relevant to wound care workflow, providers, and patients. Compliance is a critical part of the provider business these days. It's important to us that our clients can integrate that into their clinical workflow, to capture the documentation they need seamlessly."

Registry participants will no longer need to manually report data on Medicare claim forms, rather data for PQRS measures will be automatically extracted from the EP's EHR and submitted to CMS electronically.

Hayes adds, "PQRS is becoming more relevant to providers now that the incentive period is coming to a close and EPs are facing penalties for not reporting. We see the Registry as a natural extension of our role as a platform for clinical workflow. We're giving EPs the tools to simply and effectively comply with a program that can affect their facility's bottom line."
