PALM SPRINGS, Calif., Nov. 11, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- A go-cart race at Hayward® Pool Products' recent global sales meeting at the Hyatt Regency in Indian Wells, Calif., ended with a local charity emerging as the true winner. Martha's Village & Kitchen was presented with a $1,500 donation towards continuing their mission: to serve its neighbors by responding to their needs with food, clothing, shelter and an opportunity to become self-sufficient by affirming their dignity with love, compassion and respect.
As part of a team-building exercise, Hayward's sales teams built and raced custom-made go-carts. The winning team was awarded prize money based on design and speed. They, in term, chose the Indio-based Martha's Village & Kitchen to benefit from their winnings.
