The Center Releases 2015 Hospital Fact Sheet

CLEVELAND, July 23, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Hospitals in Northeast Ohio provided nearly $1.3 billion in benefits aimed at improving the health of the region in 2013, according to The Center for Health Affairs newly released 2015 Hospital Fact Sheet. The new piece, which uses an infographic format, highlights statistics about hospitals and health systems in greater Cleveland.

"One of our most important roles as the regional hospital association is to share key information about our members with lawmakers and the media," said Deanna Moore, vice president, corporate communications. "We want to be able to tell the story – whatever the story is – from our hospitals' point of view. The 2015 Hospital Fact Sheet compiles some of the most important facts we use in our advocacy efforts and helps us do that."

Information for the 2015 Hospital Fact Sheet was collected from a variety of sources, including: the Internal Revenue Service Form 990, The Center for Health Affairs' Volume Statistics Report and Payer Mix Study, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the American Hospital Association. The data collected on hospitals in Northeast Ohio details some of the most commonly requested pieces of information asked of healthcare providers, such as:

  • Community benefit activity
  • Inpatient and outpatient patient volumes and utilization
  • Hospital payer mix
  • Employment and payroll in Northeast Ohio
  • Municipal tax revenue generated by Northeast Ohio hospitals

The 2015 Hospital Fact Sheet will be distributed to contacts at member hospitals, elected officials, members of the media and community leaders. For more information on the infographic, please contact Tony Gutowski, public policy development manager, via email or telephone at 216.255.3610.
