New World Continues to Set Standard for ERP Implementations

TROY, Mich., Sept. 14, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Within seven months of contract signing, Salinas, CA went live on New World Systems® LOGOS™ Financial Management software.

According to the city’s finance director Matt Pressey, New World was able to achieve this timely go-live for Salinas by deploying a team committed to meeting the city’s needs.

“Our dedicated team worked with New World’s highly-skilled staff to make our implementation successful,” Pressey said. “It was especially helpful to have a New World application specialist that previously worked in local government, so she understood the functional and technical requirements for our new system.”

With New World’s software, the city is now able to employ paperless routing and approval methods, which will help to increase efficiency and productivity.

Prior to New World, the city was using a 30-year-old homegrown system that did not meet its needs. With New World’s software, the city can automate workflow for initiating, approving, and executing requisitions for purchase orders, staffing requests, budget adjustments, invoices, and timesheets.

Pressey said these new capabilities will enable the city to improve customer service and operational efficiency. The city will also achieve its transparency goals by offering online access to residents, businesses, and employees, which was made possible through LOGOS.

In addition to Financial Management, Salinas also licensed New World’s Human Resources, Community Development, eSuite Self Service, and Decision Support software. The city is scheduled to go live on its Community Development software later this year and Human Resources in early 2016.

“The partnership we’re in with New World has been a great experience,” Pressey said. “We look forward to continuing our relationship as we go forward with our software solutions.”
