Crain’s New York Business Names MASS Communications as One of The Best Companies to Work For in New York City

Fourth Major Award Recognizing Networking Innovator in 2015

NEW YORK, Sept. 18, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MASS Communications was recently named as one of the top 100 Best Places to Work in New York City. Crain’s New York Business launched the recognition program eight years ago, and today, it is a joint effort of Crain’s New York Business and Best Companies Group.

This survey and awards program identifies, recognizes and honors the best employers in New York City, benefiting the city’s economy, workforce and businesses.  Independent research firm Best Companies Group oversaw the entire registration and survey process, analysis of the data and final rankings.

MASS Communications, a leading connectivity and telecom management provider in its eighth year of business, has built a reputation for putting customers first and designing innovative and highly resilient voice and data networks.

“Culture is at the core of everything we do at MASS,” says Darren Mass, CEO of MASS Communications. “Regardless of what business decision we are making, whether it’s hiring or pursuing a strategic partnership, culture is our #1 priority.  Employees, customers and partners see this commitment.  It makes us a stronger team and more focused on always doing the right thing.”

Companies from across all five New York City boroughs participated in the two-part survey process. The first part (25% of the ranking) consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. The second part (75% of the ranking) involved an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking.

MASS Communications had 100% participation in the employee survey.  One reflection of MASS’s inclusive culture is that employees who join the company tend to stay: the technology firm has enjoyed 100% employee retention over all eight years of its existence.  MASS Comm also pays 100% of all healthcare expenses for employees and their families.

“When our employees feel valued and taken care of, they are ready and willing to go above-and-beyond for our customers and partners,” says David L. Schwed, General Counsel and CIO.

Adds Marc Gold, Chief Operating Officer of MASS Comm., “Our competitive advantage stems from each employee having a deep understanding of our mission, vision, and values.”

Gold elaborates further, explaining that customer centricity is a defining characteristic of the company’s culture. “We take the time to understand each customer environment and we know every client personally. Each client relationship is a point-of-pride for our employees; everyday our employees are striving to make our client’s lives easier.”

The Crain’s award is the fourth external honor that MASS Communications has received this year. The company also was named to the Inc. 500|5000 list for the third year in a row, received the 2015 SmartCEO Executive Management Award and the SmartCEO Corporate Culture Award.

Crain’s will honor MASS Comm and other winners at an event on December 4th.  For more information on the Best Places to Work in New York City program, visit www.BestPlacesToWorkNYC.com.
