Danal to Expand Mobile Identity Services

Danal and the GSMA Work Together to Provide Trusted Authentication Services

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - February 18, 2016) - Danal, Inc., a global leader in mobile identity and authentication solutions, today announced that it is working with GSMA, the association that represents the interests of mobile operators worldwide, to increase Mobile Connect adoption across Danal's clients. Danal is assisting mobile network operators (MNOs) who are currently using indigenous authentication technology to transition seamlessly to the GSMA's Mobile Connect solution which enables customers to create and manage a digital universal identity via a single log-in solution.

"Mobile Connect brings together an ecosystem of trusted mobile operators and service providers to offer consumers the ability to use their mobile phone for managing their access to online services, giving them greater control and a means of access that is secure and convenient," said Marie Austenaa, Head of Personal Data, GSMA.

"Given Danal's rapid global expansion, it is our top priority to work closely with the GSMA to implement mobile identity standards on Danal's platform," said Denise Archer, Danal Inc.'s SVP Global MNO Partnerships.

"We are very pleased to be supporting the GSMA's successful Mobile Connect service as we expand our mobile identity services in multiple continents with MNO partners and enterprise customers," commented Atreedev Banerjee, GM EU & VP Product, Mobile ID and Authentication at Danal, Inc. "The seamless transition Danal provides from existing authentication solutions to Mobile Connect, enables clients to start reaping the benefits of Mobile Connect as soon as Danal's MNO partners enable Mobile Connect in their networks."

In September 2014, Danal launched mobile identity and authentication services in the US. Today, Danal has been established as a mobile identity leader that has been trusted by top-tier US and European MNOs to directly connect to their networks, for verification of MNO subscriber accounts. This verification allows clients such as large financial institutions and mCommerce brands to prevent fraud and mitigate risk. By utilizing the MNOs' real-time data, Danal also offers consent-driven consumer convenience services, such as automatically filling forms for account origination and simple guest check-out on input-constrained mobile screens.

By spring of 2016, Danal will expand its Mobile Identity services across North America (including Canada) and specific markets in Europe. Danal recently opened its EU offices and data center to support the European market.

Mobile identity and authentication services based on real-time interaction with the mobile operator's network are impactful and far more effective than traditional offerings. MNOs already have a trusted relationship with their subscribers, which these services are building upon.

Major brands have endeavored to manage fraud and identity in the mobile channel for many years, but they have been limited by legacy mobile device data and stale account information. Danal is contracted and live with a dozen major financial institutions and brands, providing them with real-time data coming directly from the MNOs. With over a year of continuous processing and results to examine, the superiority of these services to fight fraud is now becoming a proven fact.

"The positive results our customers are reporting to us are remarkable," said Ritesh Jain, VP, Product and Operations at Danal. "One Danal customer recently reported that they are experiencing zero fraud for transactions that have been processed utilizing the Danal Mobile Identity solutions. This clearly underlines the impact real-time authoritative data from MNOs can have compared to traditional fraud solutions."

Danal will be running live demonstrations featuring Mobile Connect within the GSMA's Innovation City at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, February 22-25. Danal is also participating in the "Digital Identities for Connected Cities" panel in the Mobile World Congress conference program on February 22 at 11:00 AM in Hall 4, Auditorium 4.
