Paediatric Conference to Feature Latest Research on Child and Youth Health


CHARLOTTETOWN, PE--(Marketwired - June 22, 2016) - The latest research and developments in child and youth health will be showcased during the Canadian Paediatric Society's 93rd Annual Conference, June 22-25 in Charlottetown, PEI. More than 800 paediatricians and other child and youth health professionals from across Canada are expected to attend.

The conference will feature:

  • A keynote address by musician and broadcaster Wab Kinew, recently elected to the Manitoba Legislative Assembly. Wab will share his talk, The Reason You Walk, on June 22, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. ADT.
  • Timely workshops and concurrent seminars on child and youth health. Topics include dermatology, caring for immigrant and refugee children, oral health, environmental health and gastroenterology.
  • Close to 150 scientific abstracts in areas such as neonatology, mental health, social paediatrics, healthy active living and adolescent health.
  • Paediatric Update: Presentations on some of the timeliest issues in paediatrics including Zika virus, e-cigarettes, and screening for developmental delay in young children. Paediatric Update is Saturday, June 25 at 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. ADT.
