DataWind Appoints Technology Veteran Jerry Tarasofsky to Board of Directors


MISSISSAUGA, ON, Aug. 18, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- DataWind Inc. (TSX:DW), the leader in delivering Internet access to emerging markets, has appointed Jerry Tarasofsky to its board of directors.

Tarasofky is a pioneer of the computer industry having spent the last 40 years in technology retail, software development, and executive and business consulting.

Currently Tarasofsky serves as chief executive officer of CSI Diagnostics, a business management consulting firm, which he co-founded in 2010. Prior to that, he co-founded, served as president and chief executive officer of iPerceptions, a customer analytics company which traded publicly on the TSX Venture Exchange.

Before that, Mr. Tarasofsky co-founded and was chief executive officer of Capability Snapshot Inc., a privately held company that conceived and developed a unique methodology for evaluating organizations’ capabilities. Tarasofsky also co-founded and was president of Mage Centers for Management Development, an international management consulting firm, and co-founded and was president of Compucentre Inc., one of the first computer and electronic retail chains, with 50 locations across Canada.

Tarasofsky replaces Chander Dhawan, who stepped down from the board. With this appointment, DataWind’s board composition now consists of four independent directors and two internal directors.
