Sinequa Sees Strong Momentum Propelling Data-Driven Organizations into the Information-Driven Age

NEW YORK, Feb. 08, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sinequa, a leader in cognitive search and analytics, today announced that the company achieved a strong performance for the fiscal year 2017 ending on December 31, 2017, including double-digit growth and adding a number of high profile customers and partners. During the year, the company saw strong market adoption for its cognitive, proven and unified platform to empower today’s data-driven organizations to become “information-driven.”

“2017 was yet another really strong year for Sinequa as more companies understand the value of becoming information-driven – rather than just data-driven. To become information-driven, they need a means to extract relevant information from data for employees within their digital workplace. This is provided with great ease but also strong data security by our Cognitive Search & Analytics Platform, which brings the power of AI and natural language processing (NLP) to enterprise search. It provides actionable information presented in context, surfaces insights, informs decisions and elevates productivity,” said Fabrice de Salaberry, COO of Sinequa. “The increased momentum of our solution was also highlighted by the fact that Sinequa was recognized as an industry leader for the second time by both leading analyst firms Forrester and Gartner.”

2017 Achievement Highlights

During the last fiscal year, Sinequa achieved significant milestones:

Growth and Momentum

  • Recorded double-digit growth, moved into its new U.S. headquarters located in the heart of the Flatiron District in New York City and expanded its presence in Boston and Philadelphia.
  • Invested heavily in hiring sales and marketing and R&D talent. Sinequa’s headcount grew by 26 percent globally (36 percent in North America) to support the company’s growth.

Major new customer wins and significant subscription renewals

  • In addition to its existing 40 Fortune Global 500 customers, Sinequa signed in 2017 new high-touch customers in multiple industry verticals in EMEA and North America such as Alstom, one of the world’s leaders in integrated railway systems, DZ Bank, the second largest bank in Germany, a leading Boston-based content delivery network provider and a major global U.S. pharmaceutical company.
  • Renewed major customer subscriptions such as AstraZeneca, a long-time customer, which expanded its commitment to Sinequa’s Cognitive Search & Analytics Platform for another three years confirming that AstraZeneca considers Sinequa as a strategic technology partner. The renewal decision was made after an extensive re-evaluation and in-depth benchmarking of three search platform competitors as part of the CIO's strategy and commitment to best-in-class technology.

Product Innovation and Expanded Partner Ecosystem

  • Integrated the Relevance Feedback Model (RFM), which takes into account explicit feedback from users who can boost or decrease the relevance of content for themselves and for their peer group; and it gathers implicit feedback from user behavior, such as the preferences they show in selecting content offered on queries.
  • Embedded deep learning algorithms together with their most popular execution environment TensorFlow. Word2Vec and some related algorithms help map words and extracted entities (by Sinequa NLP) into a semantic space, where semantic similarities can be detected even if different content uses different vocabularies.
  • Offered additional third-party cloud AI services: image recognition, speech to text, natural language translation and video transcription from Google and IBM Watson cloud AI services. These additions bolstered related capabilities already in place with existing integrations of Microsoft Azure Media Services for image and video treatment.
  • Added new system integrators in EMEA and North America while continuing to nurture existing system integrator relationships. Sinequa has partners across the globe that completed customer implementations in North America and EMEA such as Atos, Accenture, Booz Allen, B-S-S, Capgemini, CGI, Deloitte, DTI, Infosys, Search Technologies (acquired by Accenture in June 2017), Sword Group, Thales and Weka.
  • Integrated Thomson Reuters’ Intelligent Tagging (TRIT) with Sinequa’s Cognitive Search & Analytics Platform to provide financial services with better insights and contextual information from data across the enterprise.
  • Partnered with Box, a leading enterprise content platform, to provide a dedicated smart data connector for Box content allowing users to search and extract valuable insights from documents hosted in Box along with other enterprise applications, big data and cloud environments within their organization.
