Festo Didactic Unveils Advanced Manufacturing Certification Program to Address Industry Demand

Comprehensive certification program prepares students and workers for jobs of the future

EATONTOWN, N.J., April 17, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Festo Didactic, Inc. – a leading provider of technical education equipment and training solutions in North America – is proud to announce the rollout of the Festo Industry Certification Program (FI4.0CP) for students and incumbent workers interested in Advanced Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 careers. With this new milestone achievement, Festo continues to move forward in its mission to ensure students have the right skillset for high-tech careers of today and the future.

FI4.0CP was developed by industry experts and educators and delivers an in-depth education, ensuring students have qualifying skills upon completion, including soft skills such as effective communication, problem-solving and critical thinking. Easily integrated with existing certificate, associate and bachelor’s degree programs, FI4.0CP offers three levels of certification – Level I: Fundamentals; Level II: Advanced Mechatronics; and Level III: Industry 4.0 – that can be horizontally stacked to provide a well-rounded education or vertically stacked with a concentration on a specialized topic area.

“Certifications are increasingly important as rapid advancements in technology are sparking the rise of ‘smart’ connected work environments and the need for a highly skilled workforce,” said Thomas Lichtenberger, President and CEO of Festo Didactic. “With jobs of the future tied to Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things (IoT), many employers are requiring certifications to demonstrate specialized skillsets that keep pace with industry growth.”

Working with NC3, the trusted certification accrediting body in the industry, Festo Didactic deploys the industry’s best trainers, designing a rigorous curriculum, and providing access to simulated smart factory equipment and learning systems. All trainers must complete the NC3 Train the Trainer program and have the ability to teach students how to operate and maintain modern equipment and systems, as well as fundamental technologies through sophisticated Industry 4.0 equipment found in today’s smart factories and industrial environments.

“We’re excited and committed to working with Festo Didactic in order to reach more students and supplement the hands-on training and soft skills they will need to successfully enter this line of work,” said Roger Tadajewski, Executive Director at NC3. “The sky is the limit when it comes to growth opportunities in advanced manufacturing, and we look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with Festo Didactic and the dedicated educators and students we serve.”
