The Craig McConnon Group has announced that it is adding the finishing touches to their new Peterborough venue and will launch within the next three weeks. The announcement comes just hours after the successful Galway event in the Republic of Ireland that saw 300 revellers enjoy an epic eight hour DJ duel.
Craig McConnon is taking no prisoners right now. Despite his busy schedule DJ'ing at premier private events, he attended the Galway duel before visiting the new Peterborough venue to give his final stamp of approval. “I had to check it was all as it should be,” Craig McConnon said. “This was a personal project and I put my heart and soul into it. It's coming on great and everything is in place for the official launch party.”
The Craig McConnon Group has spared no expense in setting up Re:Doubt, a venue set to tear through The Fens entertainment scene. “The focus is EDM because that's where the gap is,” Craig McConnon said. “It's got everything we promised and more. We've gone big on AC and the windows are in place. The mixers have been ordered and will be arriving within a week. They're big and we had them done bespoke, but they're on their way.”
Craig McConnon has a thing for lighting but that seems to be going swimmingly, even by his standards. “We've got the dynamic range lighting going on as well as the lasers and jet-foggers,” Craig McConnon reported. “We're having a test run and I'll be there myself to check it's all where it should be and behaving right.” Cubestores have been set up on site to sell gear such as optic whips, LED Poi balls, orbitals, gloves and shoelaces. “Partygoers are also welcome to bring their own, but we wanted to add the convenience to buy them at the venue,” said Craig McConnon.
The Craig McConnon Group has confirmed that structural engineers have given the new roofing structure the big okay with its reinforced steel beams and double layer insulated corrugated roof. “We can confirm the roof structure is complete and has been tested and approved by structural engineers and health and safety officers,” a spokesman for The Craig McConnon Group said. “We've also had the windows tested and approved and the fire safety measures have been given the green light.” Over the next two weeks, the building will receive its final energy check as a low energy sustainable building. “We think a green EDM venue is something pretty new,” said Craig McConnon. “We like to set the benchmarks for a growing industry.”
The Craig McConnon Group has also confirmed the original specifications for chill rooms have been successfully fulfilled by the architects and building contractors. “We set the bar high in the specs but it seems they're even better than we expected,” said a spokesman. “We've got the decorators in there giving each room its own look and feel with some really clean lines and super comfortable chill nooks. You're going to love it. There is no other response.”
Craig McConnon is said to be seriously amped for the opening, taking time out to have a last look at the lineup. “Of course it's really about the music,” he said. “The place is important, but the vibes are more important. With the new DJs and rising talent we've signed up lately, I made some tweaks here and there. We're going to need more than a couple of artistes for the launch and we want to mix things up a bit, so we're bringing in some unknowns, though they're not unknown to us. Party animals can be sure they'll be more than satisfied.”
The Craig McConnon Group is still working on the Northampton venue as Peterborough goes live, but they assure the Northampton party population that their customised venue is on track. “Just hang on a moment longer, Northampton. We've still got you covered,” said Craig McConnon. “Right now, it's Peterborough's time to shuffle and we just can't wait.”
