Swimlane Adds Key Hires to Leadership Team

New executive roles bring a depth of expertise to drive global growth

Denver, June 06, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Swimlane, a leader in security orchestration, automation and response (SOAR), today announced several leadership appointments to help drive global expansion in marketing and sales. President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Jim Hansen, Senior Vice President of Global Sales Tom Smith, and Vice President of Global Marketing Susan Warner bring decades of leadership experience to the Swimlane team.

On the heels of the Colorado-based company’s $23 million funding round, these additions to the Swimlane leadership team will help continue its rapid international business growth while leveling-up all operations for the best-in-class SOAR vendor’s customers, partners and employees.

“Welcoming Jim, Tom and Susan to Swimlane bolsters our leadership team and ability to accelerate Swimlane’s global growth—both organically and inorganically,” said Swimlane Co-Founder and CEO Cody Cornell. “At a time of tremendous growth in the SOAR market, we are positioned to be an industry leader and disrupter, serving the SecOps [security operations] community with the best thinking, the best people, and the most innovative technology.”

Bringing more than 25 years of experience in sales, operations and executive management, Jim will focus on Swimlane’s go-to-market strategy while also supporting the company’s business strategy, team growth, international expansion and partnerships. Prior to joining Swimlane, Jim spent the last decade as the president and COO of Cofense (formerly PhishMe). He has also held numerous executive and management positions in both sales and consulting organizations, including co-founder and COO at Mandiant, acquired by FireEye (FEYE).

Tom will lead the way on all things sales, leveraging his more than 20 years of domestic and global leadership in sales, channels, alliances and professional services. A founding board member of Colorado Cyber—a consortium of Colorado-based cybersecurity companies—Smith most recently led global alliances at Securonix and was division vice president of major accounts at Optiv, one of Swimlane’s strategic partners.

Susan, a two-decade marketing industry veteran, will head up marketing efforts to ensure the Swimlane message is effectively communicated to Swimlane’s various audiences and stakeholders. She brings a broad base of knowledge in cybersecurity in addition to her deep well of marketing experience to the Swimlane management team. She helped facilitate impressive growth at Cofense (formerly PhishMe) through integrated, global programs and has held leadership roles at several other technology companies.

“What I found most compelling about Swimlane was its innovative approach to serving the security operations community,” Jim said. “Our SOAR platform is truly critical for understaffed and overworked security teams facing a seemingly never-ending onslaught of alerts, and I believe the company’s collaborative approach to cybersecurity will propel the industry into the future.”
