Telenor Adjusts Its Prices


NORWAY, Dec. 29, 2000 (PRIMEZONE) -- Telenor will be making some changes to its prices at the turn of the year. The minimum call charge will be increased in both the fixed and the mobile networks, while fixed network call rates (Norway price) per minute will be reduced for daytime calls. It will also be cheaper to call from the fixed network to Telenor Mobil and to several countries in and outside Europe.

In view of the decision to increase value-added tax from the beginning of the year, Telenor decided to review its price structure in both the fixed and mobile networks. The new prices to be introduced from 1 January have been adjusted in line with the increase in value-added tax and market conditions.

The following are the most important price adjustments incl. VAT to be implemented at the turn of the year:

Mobile network:


 -- The minimum charge for all GSM calls in the mobile network will be
    increased from NOK 0.45 to NOK 0.59.
 
 -- The monthly subscription for GSM-Proff will be reduced from NOK
    249 to NOK 224.
 
 -- The rate for calls from GSM-primær to Telenor's fixed network
    (Monday-Friday 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.) will be reduced from NOK 1.18 to
    NOK 1.09 per minute.
 
 -- The rate for calls from GSM-Privat to Telenor's fixed network
    (Monday-Friday 7 a.m.- 6 p.m.) will be reduced from NOK 3.99 to
    NOK 3.69 per minute.

Fixed network:


 -- The minimum charge in the fixed network will be increased from NOK
    0.49 to NOK 0.59.
 
 -- The rate for Norway-price calls in the fixed network will be
    reduced from NOK 0.22 to NOK 0.21 in the daytime (between 8 a.m.
    and 5 p.m.).
 
 -- The rate for calls from the fixed network to Telenor Mobil will be
    reduced from NOK  1.40 to NOK 1.34 per minute.

The rate for calls from the fixed network to several countries in and outside Europe will be reduced by up to NOK 0.93 per minute.
