Optio Print Manager 2.0 Delivers New Power for Enterprise Printing

Compresses Business Cycle Times and Reduces Printer Downtime Provides Reliable Print Delivery, Automated Printer Failover

ATLANTA, June 1, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- When business application users select "print," queuing up hundreds and thousands of purchase orders, invoices, accounts payable checks or healthcare documents, the business processes those documents drive may now depend on the reliability of a single printer. Something as simple as a jammed paper tray, minor malfunction or depleted toner cartridge can interrupt the flow of business and negatively impact sales, customer service and revenue recognition.

With today's introduction of Optio Print Manager(tm) 2.0, Optio Software (OTCBB:OPTO) delivers a software solution that helps organizations assure the reliable printing of mission-critical documents and centrally manage their global printing infrastructure.

Optio Print Manager is already helping Tremco, Inc. significantly reduce printer downtime and business cycle times. "With Print Manager, we can confidently schedule printing to occur during off hours and produce 8,000 to 10,000 documents a day, and we need less human intervention to produce the required output," said Brian Ray, Tremco's manager of IT systems-administration.

Automate Printing of Time-Critical Documents

The Cleveland, Ohio-based manufacturer of industrial coatings and sealants and roofing services contractor implemented Optio Print Manager to "completely automate printing of time-critical documents such as invoices, credits, statements, pick lists and bills of lading," Ray said.

Print Manager eliminates the need for Tremco's IT staff to "babysit" printers. "For IT, that means being able to monitor printing without physically being there. We can resolve common printer problems like paper jams more readily. Just as importantly, we can pre-empt problems with controlled printer failover," Ray added. Print Manager also enables Tremco to "adjust the software to our business model without having to write custom code," he said.

Optio Print Manager 2.0 is a natural extension of Optio's comprehensive output management solutions that enable companies to produce, enhance, distribute and exchange documents and information. "Print Manager addresses our customers' needs for centralized print infrastructure management and reliable document delivery, enabling them to get the same level of reliability from their printers that they demand from their enterprise applications," said Steve Kaye, senior vice president of marketing at Optio Software.

Print Manager:

content or distribution have been enhanced by Optio's other
   solutions.

Print Manager centralizes the management of print infrastructures in virtually any enterprise resource planning (ERP) and hospital information system (HIS) environment. Version 2.0 also introduces a customized solution for the SAP environment, Optio Print Manager for SAP(tm). "Our Optio Print Manager for SAP solution enables companies to track the status of real-time print activity in the R/3 environment and provide assured print delivery of mission-critical transactional documents," said Kaye.
