EMS Satellite Networks Enters Into Joint Venture in India With Infinium

MONTREAL, May 20, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- EMS Satellite Networks (SatNet), a division of EMS Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:ELMG), announced today that it has signed a joint venture agreement with Infinium (India) Ltd, for the purposes of offering DVB-RCS equipment and services to customers in India. Infinium and EMS have been working together in the Indian market for several years. During this time, Infinium has developed a strong technical-support capability for EMS DVB-RCS products. The joint venture's mandate also includes sourcing components locally, and considering the local manufacturing and/or assembly of certain equipment.

"We believe that the Indian market has tremendous potential for DVB-RCS equipment, and that the time is right to expand our involvement in this dynamic market," says Don Osborne, senior vice president and general manager, EMS Satellite Networks. "Infinium worked with us to win our first two system contracts in India, and we are pleased to be able to team with a partner of Infinium's caliber."

Malav Mehta, managing director of Infinium, says, "We are excited by this expanded relationship with EMS Satellite Networks. We are convinced that our joint venture will be strongly positioned to compete for equipment and service opportunities in India in the coming years."
