Blue Sky and Brewer Hendley Partner to Form Blue Sky Southeast

New Marshville, North Carolina, Facility to Serve as Southeast Production and Distribution Center to Meet Growing Demand for Blue Sky Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF)

CARTERET, N.J., April 11, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Prime Lube Inc. (www.primelubeinc.com), the parent company of Blue Sky East LLC, announced it has formed a strategic partnership with the Brewer Hendley Oil Company of Marshville, N.C., to become the Southeast manufacturer and supplier of Blue Sky Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF).

This joint venture will create Blue Sky Southeast, which will begin production of DEF in April 2012 at a new 15,000-square-foot plant in Marshville, N.C. The plant will produce approximately 3.5 million gallons of DEF per year to meet growing demand for its use in diesel-powered engines, including tractor trailers, pickup trucks, passenger cars, agricultural and construction equipment, and marine vessels and trains. Blue Sky Southeast will deliver DEF to locations in a six-state area that comprises North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi.

"We are excited about our association with Brewer Hendley Oil, a first-rate and diversified petroleum company, and the expansion of our supply and distribution of Blue Sky DEF to customers in the Southeast," said Robert Arbasetti, COO of Prime Lube. "With DEF now mandated by the EPA to control diesel emissions, the availability of Blue Sky DEF to Southeast customers allows them to stay compliant, while benefitting from a high-quality, low-cost, easy-to-use solution to keep engines running efficiently."

Marshville-based Brewer Hendley Oil Company is a full-line fuel and lubricant distributor that provides a variety of petroleum products and services from major-brand suppliers to retail and commercial customers in North and South Carolina. The company also operates a chain of 15 convenience stores under the Market Express name, with locations in North and South Carolina.

"Brewer Hendley Oil has always been a leader in offering a variety of dependable, high-quality fuels, as well as safer, cleaner and more efficient alternatives," said John Hendley, co-owner of Brewer Hendley Oil. "With our new partnership and the creation of Blue Sky Southeast, we will be able to offer customers the environmental and performance benefits of Blue Sky DEF. In addition, by creating new jobs, Blue Sky Southeast will contribute to the economic development of Marshville and the surrounding communities."

The Marshville plant is the third Blue Sky East LLC facility in the U.S. and the first in the Southeast region. The strategic location will help further reduce greenhouse gas emissions by minimizing the distance required for delivery to local distributors in Blue Sky Southeast's six-state area. Lower transportation costs will also result in a significant price advantage for Southeast distributors and their customers.

Blue Sky Southeast's full-service distribution and handling capacity includes a fleet of trucks for delivery, as well as the capability to provide customers with dispensing equipment, storage tanks and other handling equipment required for DEF.

Regarding EPA compliance, all diesel-powered passenger and commercial vehicles produced after January 1, 2010, are required to meet new, lower nitrous oxide emissions standards. DEF, in conjunction with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology, is the most effective and safest means that commercial and private owner / operators can meet the required U.S. EPA mandate. DEF is also mandated in Canada.

Blue Sky DEF is ISO and API approved to help neutralize the nitrous oxide emissions generated through diesel exhaust. In its most basic form, DEF is a blend of urea (derived from natural gas) and deionized water that combine to form ammonia, which turns nitrous oxide emissions into harmless water vapor and elemental nitrogen. It can also improve fuel economy up to eight percent. A gallon of DEF costs about the same as a gallon of diesel fuel and generally lasts about 300 to 500 miles.

On April 24, 2012, a grand opening event will be held for the new Blue Sky Southeast facility in Marshville. The event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring the mayor, local officials and Blue Sky and Brewer Hendley Oil representatives; tours of the plant; and fleet trucks and equipment on display. In addition to media representatives and guests, the public is invited to attend.
