Naxos of America Launches Supraphon, Centaur Records, wSphere and BIS Records for Distribution in The United States

FRANKLIN, TN--(Marketwired - Jul 2, 2013) -  North America's leading classical music distributor, Naxos of America, will begin U.S. distribution of Supraphon, Centaur Records, wSphere and BIS Records in July 2013.

Founded in 1973, BIS Records (http://www.bis.se/index.php) is one of the most highly respected classical labels in the world, praised for the sound quality of its recordings -- whether released on regular CDs or as Hybrid SACDs -- and for the versatility and variety of its catalogue, which to date includes more than 1700 titles. With a strong focus on Scandinavian and Baltic composers, BIS has been very successful with landmark projects including the complete works of Sibelius and the Suzuki Bach cantata series.

Founded in 1976 and based in Louisiana, Centaur Records (http://www.centaurrecords.com/) is one of the oldest and largest independent classical music labels in the US. Its recordings span an extremely wide range of repertoire, from Lassus to electro-acoustic music, from classical pops and crossover to Brahms, Grieg and Mozart.

First trademarked in 1932, Supraphon (http://www.supraphon.com/) is based in the Czech Republic and has a distinguished history. During the 1930s and 1940s, Supraphon was responsible for helping to spread the fame of Czech classical music with recordings of the works of Bedrich Smetana, Antonín Dvorák, and Leos Janácek, as well as other giants of both the Czech and the international music worlds. Today, Supraphon is the only former Eastern Bloc music publisher which has maintained its number one position in its domestic market as well as measured up successfully to the ever more competitive international environment.

wSphere (http://www.wspheremusic.com/communique/) is a Wagram Music group international label. Based in Paris, but with a global view, wSphere aims to introduce exciting music to the World. Leftfield music for the masses.
