Consumerization of IT in the Enterprise (CITE) Awards Showcase Leading Technology and Business Innovation

Finalists Will Be Recognized and Winners Announced at Third Annual CITE Conference + Expo

FRAMINGHAM, MA--(Marketwired - Jan 8, 2014) - IDG's Consumerization of IT in the Enterprise (CITE) conference + expo -- the only conference to examine all aspects of consumer-driven technology change in business and the workplace -- is pleased to announce the finalists of its first CITE Awards Program. Winners of the program's six categories will be announced in a live ceremony at the third annual event to be held April 27-29, 2014, in San Francisco.

Awards categories cover a range of technologies that support internal and customer-facing innovation in the fast-changing business world. Entries were evaluated and finalists selected based on business outcomes as well as the complexity and innovation of solutions developed.

"This first awards program highlighted a wealth of organizations across many industries using consumer-inspired technologies to solve real business problems," said program chair Anne McCrory, vice president, marketing and content strategy for events at IDG Enterprise. "A lot of the entries had a data analytics focus even if the project itself was entered in another category. Clearly that will be a major theme of the CITE conference, in addition to a lot of the other emerging trends we're seeing, from 3-D printing to wearables to new ecommerce platforms."

Expertise from many of the finalists will be incorporated into the 2014 CITE agenda and profiled in articles on CITEworld.com.

"I was extremely impressed with the caliber of the projects submitted, and look forward to showcasing them on CITEworld," said Matt Rosoff, CITEworld editorial director and an awards program judge.

The CITE conference agenda will focus on five major areas experiencing disruption as a result of the consumerization of IT. These are The Customer, The Business, The Workplace, The Technology and The Edge.

"The CITE Awards, like the conference agenda, demonstrate how many technologies contribute to a truly agile enterprise. It's much more than mobile and BYOD," said Adam Dennison, VP and publisher of CITEworld. "We're excited to have these finalists share how they integrated edge technologies to drive great business outcomes."
