CardinalCommerce and The Fraud Practice Announce 2nd Annual Survey on Consumer Authentication

CardinalCommerce and The Fraud Practice announce their launch of the 2nd Annual Consumer Authentication Survey this week. This survey, which takes a 360o view of the payments eco-system worldwide, will build on the findings of the first survey on the topic, conducted one year ago.

CLEVELAND, Ohio, Oct. 21, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via PRWEB - CardinalCommerce and The Fraud Practice announce their launch of the 2nd Annual Consumer Authentication Survey this week. This survey, which takes a 360o view of the payments eco-system worldwide, will build on the findings of the first survey on the topic, conducted one year ago.

Consumer Authentication, which has become a hot topic for merchants with a Card-Not-Present presence with EMV on the horizon, can protect online transactions from the fraud resulting from the adoption of chip cards for POS. Merchants, issuers, acquirers and others in the payments industry can take the survey and give their input on the direction of the payments industry.

Among the results from the inaugural survey, it was reported that the overwhelming impression of merchants currently using Consumer Authentication worldwide is positive, and even though participation is currently low in the US, many countries and regions have successfully adopted EMV and Consumer Authentication to reduce both POS and CNP fraud. Cardinal and The Fraud Practice plan to conduct the survey annually to measure adoption and attitudes on Consumer Authentication, and how they change over time.

David Montague, President of The Fraud Practice, says "This year we have seen increasing merchant mandates along with new financial penalties for merchants not using association-based consumer authentication schemes. These new changes, along with EMV beginning in the US market in 2015, have really raised the stakes, and we are excited to kick off our 2nd Annual Consumer Authentication Survey with CardinalCommerce to learn how the market's perspective on Consumer Authentication has evolved."

Mike Keresman, Chief Executive Officer at Cardinal, says, "The enormous amount of feedback we got in the inaugural survey was both enlightening and informative, and is helping us help our Customers increase sales and reduce fraud with EMV liability shift right around the corner in the US. We are looking forward to strong participation from the global payments community to make the 2nd Annual Survey a valuable resource for the industry."

Participants in the survey can enter a drawing to win one of ten Bose SoundLink® Bluetooth® Speakers III being given away.
