COPsync Continues Network Expansion With Access to Over $10 Million of Outstanding Class C Warrants

Company Sees Collection of Outstanding Warrants Issued by Municipal and State Courts as a Significant Future Revenue Opportunity

DALLAS, Jan. 13, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- COPsync, Inc. (NASDAQ:COYN), which operates the nation’s largest law enforcement in-car information sharing and communication network and the COPsync911 threat-alert system for schools, government buildings, hospitals and other potentially at-risk facilities, announced today that it now provides law enforcement professionals on the COPsync Network with real-time access to more than $10 million of outstanding Texas Class C misdemeanor warrants.

Municipal Courts or Justice of the Peace Precincts issue Class C warrants largely due to unpaid traffic tickets. According to a November 2014 article from the Breitbart News Network, in Texas alone, cities and counties across the state are owed billions of dollars in unpaid traffic fines for Class C traffic offenses. Law enforcement officers and agencies on the growing COPsync Network have the ability to access these Texas Class C warrants in real-time through the Company’s warrant notification and clearing database (WARRANTsync®) during routine traffic stops. Officers are then able to issue a roadside warrant warning. Approximately 9% of the warrants in the WARRANTsync database have been “hit” by an officer running a driver’s license or name/date of birth query in COPsync. When the “hit” occurs, the officer is prompted with the “Warrant Found” window, which currently allows the officer to print a roadside warning notice provided to the offender.

Ronald A. Woessner, Chief Executive Officer of COPsync, Inc., remarked, “Warrant collection services represent a significant future revenue opportunity for COPsync as we continue the expansion of the COPsync Network in Texas and throughout the United States. Texas enacted legislation in 2015 that allows officers to clear Texas Class C warrants by collecting payment of the warrant amount at roadside for warrants issued by any court in the state. The COPsync WARRANTsync system fulfills the objective of the legislation since it is architected to enable officers to collect these payments.”

Mr. Woessner continued, “Once the Company implements the warrant collection feature, officers on the COPsync Network will have the ability to quickly access outstanding warrant data and process collections via a credit card, thus effectively expanding the warrant collection staff for state courts by thousands of COPsync officers without adding to their payroll. With many courts in Texas having a significant backlog of outstanding warrants, the WARRANTsync system will enable courts and law enforcement agencies to claim missing revenue. This is a significant value added feature and potential revenue stream for current and future customers.”

Additional benefits of the WARRANTsync system include an alert notification automatically sent to officers when a colleague encounters a warrant holder, and the agency whose officer collects payment for the warrant will receive a fee from the court where the warrant was issued. As a component of the Company’s subscription-based service to law enforcement agencies and courts, the WARRANTsync system is becoming an important feature in attracting and keeping court and law enforcement agency customers and contributes to the overall growing value of the Company’s product offerings.

About COPsync, Inc.

COPsync, Inc. (COYN) is a technology company that improves communication between and among law enforcement officers and agencies from differing jurisdictions to help them prevent and respond more quickly to crime. The COPsync Network connects law enforcement officers and agencies to a common communications system, which gives officers instant access to actionable, mission-critical data and enables them to share information and communicate in real-time with other officers and agencies, even those hundreds and thousands of miles away. The Network's companion, COPsync911 threat alert system, enables schools, courts, hospitals, government buildings, energy, telecommunications and other potentially at-risk facilities to automatically and silently send threat alerts directly to local law enforcement officers in their patrol cars in the event of a crisis, thereby speeding first responder response times and saving minutes when seconds count. The COPsync Network saves officer and citizen lives, reduces unsolved crimes and assists in apprehending criminals and interdicting criminal behavior -- through such features as a nationwide officer safety alert system, GPS/auto vehicle location and distance-based alerts for crimes in progress, such as school crisis situations, child abductions, bank robberies and police pursuits. The COPsync Network also eliminates manual processes and increases officer productivity by enabling officers to write electronic tickets, accident reports, DUI forms, arrest forms and incident and offense reports. The company also sells VidTac®, an in-vehicle, software-driven video system for law enforcement. Visit www.copsync.com and www.copsync911.com for more information.
