New LoRa-based starter kit from MultiTech provides the necessary components to quickly build and test smart city, agriculture, industrial, utility, healthcare and other IoT applications


CAMARILLO, Calif., Aug. 18, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Semtech Corporation (Nasdaq:SMTC), a leading supplier of analog and mixed-signal semiconductors, today announced its LoRa® Wireless RF technology is featured in a new starter kit developed by MultiTech. The MultiTech MultiConnect® Conduit™ Starter Kit for LoRa® Technology aims to simplify the development of Internet of Things (IoT) applications by providing the components necessary to build and connect a LoRa-based IoT proof of concept (PoC) to a low power, wide area network (LPWAN).

Included in the kit are a pre-configured and programmable MultiConnect Conduit gateway featuring LoRa, a MultiConnect® mDot™ LoRaWAN™ RF sensor module certified by the LoRa Alliance™, and cloud connectors to help speed up the development of IoT PoCs for a wide range of applications, including smart city, building, agriculture, industrial, utility and healthcare. As announced in October 2015, both the MultiTech gateway and sensor module are embedded with Semtech LoRa technology, providing a configurable, manageable and scalable solution for IoT applications.
