Viventium to Donate to Two New Orleans Charities, Opts Out of Extravagant Spend on Convention Booth at SHRM Conference

Building tradeshow booth with cardboard boxes and donating savings to charities unlocking human potential

New Orleans, June 15, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Unlike the hundreds of HR software companies in town this week spending tens of thousands of dollars on extravagant booth displays at the New Orleans Convention Center, one company will instead donate the money to local charities and build its booth using cardboard boxes: Viventium.

Viventium — a transformative, living, and purely cloud-based HCM solution that provides actionable business insight — is donating to two local charities that put its SHRM conference concept of “Daring to Live Remarkably” into action every day.

“At Viventium, we are hyper-focused on people, and our team wanted our presence at this year’s SHRM conference to align with who we are as a company. Donating to local charities that are doing remarkable work rather than spending all of that money on a fancy convention booth is one way we can extend our corporate culture into the community,” said Viventium CEO Gary Trainor.

Viventium will present a $10,000 check on June 18 at 3:30 p.m. CT on the exhibit floor to Second Harvest, a charity that provides emergency food assistance and disaster relief in New Orleans and throughout the region. A simultaneous live broadcast will take place on Second Harvest’s Facebook page.

“We’re thrilled that Viventium, an HR software company in town for a convention, is taking the time to recognize the remarkable work that Second Harvest is doing in people’s lives in New Orleans and across the country,” said Second Harvest President and CEO Natalie Jayroe.

Viventium will also deliver $10,000 worth of “wish list” items to the New Orleans Women & Children’s Shelter at its Liberty Street shelter on June 20 at 5:30 p.m. CT. Shelter representatives said the goods will meet about a year’s worth of their needs for many items.

“We are grateful to Viventium for their donation, which will help impact the lives of so many women and children in New Orleans,” said NOWCS Executive Director Dawn Bradley-Fletcher.
