IFT Elects Mérieux NutriSciences’ Pam Coleman as 2018 President-Elect

Advancing the science of food with a food science veteran

Chicago, IL, March 14, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On Monday, March 5th, the 2018 IFT Leadership Election officially closed with one woman taking the title as the IFT President-Elect. Having served on multiple IFT committees for the past two decades, Pam Coleman, a Certified Food Scientist and Vice President of Research Services at Mérieux NutriSciences, is ready for the role.

Pam has spent her career providing leadership expertise in scientific services for the food industry. She has been an asset to Mérieux NutriSciences, overseeing Research Services for the past five years, a team dedicated to product innovation support services, such as clinical research, sensory and consumer studies. She began her career working on R&D teams for two food companies before focusing on laboratory management. Serving the customer has always been key for her, helping to establish testing programs both domestically and internationally.  As a long-term IFT member, Pam has led the Quality Assurance Division, the Dixie Section (now the South Eastern Section), completed several task force assignments and currently sits on the Board of Directors.

“IFT has been an integral part of my life,” says Coleman, “pushing me to develop and practice skills that have enabled me to achieve more in my career. I am grateful for these opportunities and am ready to do whatever I can to ensure IFT maintains its positive influence on our global food system and its future leaders.”

“Mérieux NutriSciences is very proud to have one of our own leaders steer this highly prestigious scientific society. Mérieux NutriSciences and IFT both share a common goal to deliver safe, high-quality foods to consumers on a global basis. We are proud to support Pam and all our employees with their participation with IFT,” says Jim Miller, President North America.
