Nassau, BAHAMAS, June 25, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation is launching its Summertime Junkanoo Summer Festival in grand style on Thursday, 28th June 2018, at Pompey Square, Bay Street.  

Tourism’s Junkanoo Summer Festival, which will take place every Saturday from July 7 to August 4, is an extravaganza of fun and games, cultural activities, music, dance, and culinary fare all complemented with high-level local entertainment.

“As the premier leader in Caribbean Tourism Development, The Bahamas’ Signature Tourism events celebrate the life and culture of the most hospitable people in the region,” says Tourism’s Director General, Mrs. Joy Jibrilu, as she thanked contributors whom, she remarked, “have brought both financial and in-kind sponsorship to emphasize their support of our entertainment product initiatives, and we are very grateful”. 

The launch party at Pompey Square will be exciting and memorable. Featured artists will include Soulful Groovers, Blaudy and the Bluetooth Band, Maltese Davis’ Fire and Limbo, the Royal Bahamas Police Band and the Music Makers along with partners such as Little Switzerland, Graycliff, Hennergy Bahamas, Blue Lagoon and MOVI.
